152. 10 Facts Baba Ramdev Would Never Want You To Know About Him

For all we know, Ramdev Baba has been media’s one of the favorite muse. From yoga CDs to shampoo bottles, you won’t find a single being unaware of Baba’s existence. But there are these facts you may not be aware of about this epitome of ‘flexibility and black long shiny  hair’.

1. Baba Ramdev left schooling after he ran away from home post his 8th standard and yet has Doctorate degrees from 4 universities across India.

2. From his contributions to India and the world in the form of ayurvedic medicines and yoga, his estimated property is worth Rs. 30 Billion.

3. It is believed that Baba charges Rs 50,000 for front row seats at his yoga classes and Rs 30,000 for seats behind. The last row costs Rs 1,000 a seat.

4. He had publicly claimed of curing AIDS and cancer with yoga. But when probed further into these claims he later clarified that he had only said yoga helped provide relief to those with AIDS.

5. Baba claims that he suffered from paralysis of the left side of his body during childhood and that his life changed after he read Rishi Dayanand. But one can easily notice that his right forehead has no wrinkles and his right eye does not wink as much, symptoms of Bell’s palsy which can be cured either  spontaneously, fully or partly. In this case, the right facial palsy appears to have recovered partially. He DOES NOT have any evidence of left sided paralysis.

6. Baba’s close friend and schoolmate Acharya Balkrishna who he met at the Gangotri caves on a ‘similar quest’ is allegedly a criminal on the run from Nepal and is being investigated for procuring a fake Indian passport and for violating the Arms Act.

7. Baba swears by a strictly ‘non-political life’ a sure sign of good conduct whereas his close association with many political parties is well-known.

In 2011, while trying to flee from the Ram Lila Maidan in Delhi, where he was apparently protesting against corruption, Baba draped himself in a salwar kameez and covered his head with a dupatta to evade the police. But then, his beard played spoilsport and stuck out of the dupatta, giving him away.

9. On one side Baba dreams about ideal Bharat but on the other side it has been alleged that his pharmacy was selling pills that could help women conceive boys. If those pills do work, he in near future will have to sell pills that would help men conceive because according to him homosexuality is unnatural, remember? Tch tch.

10. He propagated Pranayam as ‘medicine free’ for the treatment of diseases round the globe yet Divya Pharmacy manufactures and sells about 285 drugs and other products with total turnover as per his own admission is about 1100 crores.
