According to National City Rating published by Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India, here is the list of India’s cleanest cities! The recent rankings as of August 2015 by Swachh Bharat announced Mysuru as the number one cleanest city by scoring the highest 18.50 out of 20 points in minimizing open defecation.
1. Mysore, the home to the centuries-old Devaraja Market, filled with spices, silk and sandalwood ranks first in the list and is declared as the cleanest city in the country.
2. Tiruchirappalli, also called Tiruchi or Trichy ranks second with a total score of 14.25.
3. Navi Mumbai, a planned township of Mumbai on the west coast of Maharashtra ranks third as the cleanest city in India.
4. Kochi, a famous state from Kerala ranks fourth with a total score of 14.07.
5. Hassan is a city from the state of Karnataka ranks fifth with a total score of 13.58.
6. The land of sugar and rice, Mandya is a prominent agricultural district and is also known as the cleanest city in India.
7. Capital of Karnataka, Bangaluru ranks next with the total score 13.27.
8. Thiruvananthapuram also known as emerald necklace of Kerala ranks next. Total score of the state is 12.98.
9. Halisahar ranks next from the state of west Bengal with a score of 12.75.
10. Gangtok from Sikkim ranks tenth in the list.
